20 January

The dawning of a new day

What an energetic evening.  What a great pleasure to final shake Jack’s hand a say “Congratulations Mr Governor.”  Though I have to admit, I prefer his usual hug.  I am glad that I finally decided to brave the weather and go.  Thanks to our Legislative escorts who dumped us out in front of Mitchell Hall at 10PM to wait in the freezing cold.  We were the first to arrive and refused to give up our “head of the line” status.  Tom Chapman came out from the interior warmth to chat and to direct the less hardy attendees to the warmth of a nearby building.  We went in and grabbed 5 seats in the 3rd row right.  Direct view of the podium, 25 feet away.  We could see the sparkle in Jack and Matt’s eyes.  We could feel the positive energy and confidence that Jack always exudes.    The drive north, the standing in the cold and the drive back home lasted about 4 times longer than the Inaugural Ceremony, I I am glad that I did not miss it.  What a way to start a day!  Lets hope that energy and positve attitude continues to grow.
